Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
I haven't logged in a little over a week. I was thinking about backlogging, but I honestly don't feel the need to do that because I think that if anyone is actually checking my log they know me well enough to know that I wouldn't take 8 days off in the second week of September.
I did this run with my mom at about 9 pm. It felt really good. It was nice and conversational and it's been a while since I've run with her. It's been a pretty hard week so it was really nice to have a mother-daughter heart to heart. I wasn't happy about missing the hill work out today, but I think that going on this run with my mom was really beneficial for me.
During the workout yesterday I felt really strong and both of my miles were sub 7. I was not happy about running alone, but after a talk with Anthony, I understand that it's probably better to go slower in a group than faster on my own in future workouts.
I was also pretty happy with my race on Saturday. 21:11 was not even close to the time I was hoping for but I still felt like I ran a good race. I was in control of my breathing the entire time. I know that at this point in the season I'm capable of running a lot faster than I did on Saturday, but I don't regret anything about my race.
I'm quite sad about missing my last Oatlands, but now I get to run 3-4 miles with my mom in her half-marathon on Sunday so I'm excited about that.
Overall, It hasn't been a great week for me running-wise and non-running-wise. I don't like to curse on running-log, but I'm giving myself a pass to say this was a shitty week. I also don't ever write long, thought-provoking logs so I guess there's a first time for everything. Despite the pretty unpleasant past 6 days, I'm still grateful for the people who have shown me love and encouragement this week and throughout my running career at GDS. It's been really nice to hear from Matt, Anthony, Nomi, Mark, Abigail, Isabel, Jack, Sara, Maddi, and Ana this week. Support from past, present and current members of the team is something I know I can always hold on to.
