Weather: low 80s and humid
Comments:
Kept waking up between 5:40 and 7:00, so I decided it was a sign I should go down to watch some hoppers race in Georgetown. Parked at 30th and P Streets and jogged stiffly pas the Four Seasons where their race was to begin in 7 minutes and onto the E Street Expressway which was closed for the race. Circled back a bit at the mile mark and cheered intermittently for the hoppers who were racing past. Also got to see Chip West racing and Berenson cheering after his long run. A few pauses along the way and briefly afterwards to talk with the finishers and then to chat with Mark for a few minutes while he stretched next to GW's field. Finished up past the P Street Beach to my car. I had considered trying to make this my workout, but my body wasn't feeling ready and my focus was on others. I think I'll try to screw up my courage and try an actual speed workout tomorrow. Forgot to restart and stop a my watch a few times, so estimating 41/42 minutes. Strong early season performances by the five hoppers who raced.
