Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Best I've felt since the marathon. All I could think about today is how good I want to be. That's all that matters to me atm.

@Whinnery you've probably seen this video and although it's kinda basic bc of the famous audio from Rocky, the DBZ clips and music make it everything. Whenever I need to get pumped for something I watch "Vegeta the Proud Warrior": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8FSbIoarzE

Back when I watched through DBZ, I was a big fan of Goku. But now that I'm older and wiser, I have MAD respect for Vegeta. Vegeta had to work for EVERYTHING he had (not to say Goku didn't work for his success), and deep down he KNEW he would never be as good as Kakarot, no matter how hard he tried. He even admits to this in the video "Vegeta's Respect": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbTZ5wFZ6ZE. But Goku was the best motivation he could have ever had. He never would've gone Super Saiyan without him. He would've gotten complacent, which is the 8th deadly sin imo. And that's where I'm at. I know I'll never be as good as Chelimo, Kipchoge, Jager, Brownlee, Mola, Luis, or any of those top guns. Hell, I'll continue to get my cheeks clapped but all sorts of people. But I'll never stop working for it, even if I'm destined to fail. I CAN'T get complacent.

People who say to not compare yourself to others are losers. Life is about competition. If ALL you care is about bettering yourself, never sign up for a race again in your life. Just go out to the track and do time trials by yourself if that's all you care about. But don't get me wrong: beating your previous self is definitely something to work for and is a good motivator. Getting a sick PR is a great feeling, but a lot of times in triathlon it doesn't mean much. In triathlon, competition is EVERYTHING. Each course is so so different that you really can't compare times from race to race. Sure, you can get a "ballpark" estimate, but you'll never really know. Like, I know that based on time I am in the ballpark of my professional female cousin in triathlon. In fact, I would be willing to put my head on the line and say that if we raced each other head to head that I would beat her. But because we race on totally different courses in totally different environments, I really can't say I am for sure better unless we actually do race each other.

Competition is natural for all living things. And even though there will always be someone better than me, I am not going to stop striving to close that gap as much as I can.

Ok enough of these meta logs. Just had to get these words down.
