There are 102 days left in 2018. I made it a goal a while back to hit 2018 miles of running and at 200 miles of swimming by December 31st. This is something I have never even really gotten close to hitting. I usually only swam in the winter and I don’t think I ever hit 200 miles in a season. I’m sure Sean V did but my HS swim program focused more on high quality, fast workouts over lots of yardage. And I have never been able to hit 2000 miles of running in a year because I seemed to always get injured with something.
Through today this year, I have run 1506.99 miles at an average of 6:44/mile. To hit 2018 miles, I would need to average 5.01 miles/day or 35.07 miles/week. There is absolutely no reason I can’t do that as long as I don’t get injured again.
As for swimming, it’s going to be tougher. I have taken more breaks with swimming and it is obviously less of a priority. Through today, I have swum 131.05 miles. To hit 200 miles, I would need to average 0.68 miles/day or 4.73 miles/week. I should be able to do that but it’ll be tough, especially if I decide to up my running mileage in November/December.
Also, I am officially set for Boston Marathon 2019. Registration price has increased a bit since I did it in 2015. Back then, it was $175. Then in 2016, it went up to $180 (I ended up getting injured so my registration was a loss smh). Now, for 2019, registration is $200 like sheeeeeesh. Makes me wonder how much more it is going to continue to increase over the years.
Really hoping for a good redemption race from the disaster that was 2015. Then I can put this race behind me and move on to the other marathon majors or something. Idk I haven’t really thought that far ahead. Definitely want to accomplish all 6 before I die though. Might be going down to Alabama with my cousins at the end of January to do some half marathon though?
