Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 70s
Comments:
Pleasant, overcast weather was not a factor... which hasn't been the case in months. I'd offered a "long run" from GDS at 3pm on this meet-free Saturday and I found Ethan "Side" Burns, Jeff "Sunshine" Elias, and Charlie "Lead foot" Baar all at GDs and ready to run. We headed into trails but within blocks of starting off, I felt heavy legged and not fresh. (Not quite sure what had taken the freshness out of my legs, but at least they warmed up by the time we were going down the hills in BK. Still, by the time we were on the canal, I knew I'd not be feeling very fresh going back up to Tenelytown. We took the detour through Foxhall Village to avoid the trestle bridge fences at the mouth of Glover. Having company was very helpful and we kept the pace pretty controlled. Sub 8 along the canal and never slower than 8:40 up through Glover. Both knees were achy by the end and my feet, especially the left foot and big-toe joint, were fairly achy by the end and through the night. A nice run.
