Dick and Drop

Dick and Drop= "The act of dicking the start of a workout and then dropping everyone at the end".

So today's workout wasn't textbook definition "dick and drop", but it was very unintentionally of "dick and drop" nature. The workout was 5 x 1 mile at threshold pace at Patriach Park. The beginning of the workout felt absolutely horrible. Granted, I was just following behind a group and we were going way too fast, but it just horrible. The next two reps felt ever worse. Austin and Andrew Beyer dropped me on the second one, and then on the third one kids that I didn't know the name of were dropping me. Usually if someone can beat me, I'll know their name but it was feeling so bad.

So, I was going to drop out after 3 because the workout was feeling so bad. But then Austin told me to send it on the 4th one. And then I must've changed mental gears because I went out ahead of Austin and Andrew and started chasing Billy (who was doing all of the leading). I dropped a good mile and decided that i wanted to do a 5th one. Austin was definitely shaking his head as he should be, since I was now unintentionally dick and dropping the workout. On the 5th one, I decided to challenge Billy. Should I have done this? Did I have the right to? Probably not, but I went for it anyways and I stuck with him until the very end. I closed in a 5:30 mile with him at about 5:27, so not bad at all.

For those reading, I do sincerely apologize against my "dick and drop". It's not classiest move, especially for the guys who have been pushing harder since the beginning. For the cooldown, I had to finish it on my own. I had a 6:30pm call and I finished the workout at 6:20pm, so a dawgs gotta eat I guess. Overall it turned out to be a solid workout.
