Comeback SZN

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 70s

Comments:
Well fellow loggers, I think I have finally made my comeback with this workout. Granted, I'm a mid-distance runner who just does really well at these types of workouts, but I finally destroyed a workout for the first time in a long time.

Today's workout was partner 12 x partner 400s. I partnered up with Austin and embarked on a 3 mile journey around the ELHS track (we changed it from Wonders, since Wonders field is closed apparently). I know the workout was intended to be at mile pace, but I decided to play the slow dick and drop game, so that I could survive 12 whole reps. For the first rep, a bunch of freshmen went out ahead of me and came through at a nice and crisp 74. After that, I ran the next 5-6 with reps and focused on staying relaxed and in control. I never felt like I was pushing too hard at this point and definitely dominating this workout.

After rep 8, Austin dropped out and I worked off of consistent 70 second rest. Every single rep was just getting a little faster every single time. But after 8, I knew I was feeling really good and was gonna crush the last few reps. I ended up finishing my last two in a 67 and 63. A little too fast? Absolutely, but I felt great and it gave me some amazing confidence going into Little 10s this weekend (unless my legs feel the wrath and I actually die lol). Best workout of the season? Perhaps, but I'm gonna hold up on that title for a little bit longer. 400s are too easy to just call my best workout of the SZN lol.

Ok now for the interesting cool down stories lol:

During the cool down, I was talking to Mitch about the party and told him I was bringing my sisters to it. After saying this Mitch responds by saying "Shot Gun". Now maybe I'm just tainted by the degeneracy of this club, but I definitely thought he just coined a new phrase saying he was calling shotgun on my sisters. I was like "wtf man" and he quickly said "no man, I meant do you want shotgun beer at the party on Saturday?". LMAO Man, I am so corrupted by this club RIP.. I also found out that Mitch went home last weekend and dropped $140 at the bar. Granted the man was buying many rounds of shots for his friend, but I never took him as a partier lol. Definitely looking forward to raging on Saturday with him.

Once I got back to IM West, I found that i left my keys at ELHS smh. Just when I thought the L's were fading, they came back in full force baby. So, luckily Maginste let me take her bike back and when I got there I wasn't able to find it. Thankfully my dawg Dolla Bill was just starting the workout and managed to find my keys. Shoutouts to Maginste and Dolla Bill.

Those are all for the stories. I wanted to end by saying welcome to the log @ZackSmith and @AndrewBeyer. Sometimes we end up logging more about boring lives than our running, but hope you find some entertainment in the degeneracy of these logs lol. Hope to see you guys on here.
