Had the 1000 time trial today. It went okay the way I see it. I'd have liked to been a little faster through the 8 but the last 200 was crap so thats a bad thing. Pretty much me and Kurt from the quarter on. The first 200 was real fast. It felt a lot different for me to run that fast to start a race but I didn't really suffer too much. Ended up being about 28 which is a tad faster than I'd have liked at that point. Took the lead coming down the home streach the first time and took the quarter in around 58-59 I think. At about 600 Kurt picked it up pretty good and I had to almost sprint to stay with him at that point. He said he was going to gun it to try to go sub-2 so I expected this but I didn't think it would have been that fast. He hit the 800 at 2:02 high and me at 2:03 low. From then on it was just a struggle. I passed him to take the win for Twinsburg (woot woot, as it should be against Solon) but the last 200 was bad, like 34. Afterwards I felt I could have run faster. Felt like I could have pushed myself that last quarter more and tried to stay with the quick first 2. Oh well I'll take a 2:03 split first time out and in November. I'm ready to bring on indoor and the mile showdown in December. Hopefully I can get a good mile there too and set somem high goals for track season. Mileage will probably be about the same this week. I'll probably take next week off and then bulild high for indoor racing. Took like a ten minnute break after the 1000 and then did 4x200. The first one my calves started to seize up a bit so I switched to trainers for the last three. The first 2 were in 32, really just fast strides to shake off the cold. The last 2 were both sub 30, like 28, and 28. Not bad for trainers, Overall a solid workout and an okay TT.
