December 24, 2018 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Met up with Emma Benson-Xu ('13) for an early morning trot around her neighborhood in North Bethesda. I hadn't seen Emma in years, maybe not even since she graduated high school, so I was super eager to catch up. She didn't run in college, but she was the manager for the track team during her four years at Bucknell which she loved. Now she teaches high school bio at a very difficult charter school in NYC.
Emma had been sick for a couple days, but was determined to join me for a run and so stumbled outside at 9am in a heavy down coat belonging to her mom that came practically to her ankles (she is not exactly tall). Let it be know to all who care that it looked ridiculous. We ran and walked, probably running about 75% of the time for nearly 50 minutes, which is pretty darn impressive for someone who's sick. Nor was it acutely slow - we actually kept up a real running pace for the running parts. Definitely a relief after the fast runs I've done over the past 2 days. Basically, the most delightful way imaginable to start off Christmas eve morning.
