Muzzy (Oh man)

April 16, 2019 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
I was very mentally prepared to run the 8 and had, unfortunately, not hydrated very well leading up. VERY shocked when I saw I was running the 32 and complained about it about the entire day. Maybe not the best mindset to have going in.
The race itself was pretty rough. We did not realize the meet was running as behind schedule as it was and warmed up very early. Did some striders as the senior class continued complaining about the 32 and how we wished we were done with the meet....
I didn't really know what to expect as I felt like I had raced pretty well both times last year but my training was not at that same level. I was trying to get close to 15 as I could but that didn't really work. I'm a little disappointed but know that this race was good for my fitness and the 8 and the mile as well,.
I think I could have tried to stay with Hannah and/or surged to get to her in the sixth lap but during the race it felt very, very, mentally difficult. I will also make sure! my! spikes! are! tied! (I tied my spike two minutes before the race and the right one came untied 2 laps in.... what). It was very helpful to have her next to me when I was lagging in the earlier laps. I think I can trust myself more to go with her but I see why this race was useful training-wise (and taught me better pacing for the mile). Excited to get back to the shorter stuff, though.

Splits:
1:43 -- too fast, which I later told Hannah as we continued
1:55 (3:38)
????
First mile was 7:33
1:58
???
(11:32) - Lost Hannah here. It was really tough to remain focused.
???
??? (15:33). I didn't have much of a kick.
