April 27, 2019 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: Windy and Sunny (Pollen)
Comments:
First, meet where I could really push the pace. Wasn't quite racing or going max yet as my first two laps were pretty relaxed. Only the third mile of the year and the other two were workouts. This ended up being half workout and half pace pushing which was nice. Learned right before my seed time was 5:04 which was scary as I had never run faster than a 5:14 at St. Albans earlier that week in the pacing workout. The first two laps weren't easy but were not hard. I could feel it in the legs but overall I was in control. Then as soon as I hit the line and began my third lap I worked to pick up the pace which was hard as I got boxed in until the fourth lap. As we all know Anthony is all knowing and even though a 5:04 was 10 seconds faster than I had ever gotten I ended up finishing it in exactly 5:04. This gives me some confidence that I will likely break five when I go into a mile and actually race it rather than treating it as a workout. Good work Corbin for running a 4:56. Pollen and wind was not great, but a good day overall.
