Papa-Son Bikeride #3

June 25, 2019 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Bike

Comments:
Down to the far tip of Ocean City this time, where you can practically throw a stone across the narrow channel to
Assateague Island that apparently was carved by a storm in the 1930s. We then walked our bikes up along the boardwalk for a mile while I tried to determine whether Ocean City is more racially diverse than Bethany and Rehobeth (answer: yes) before hopping on our bikes for the 13 or so miles back up the Coastal Highway to Bethany. We continued our conversation from yesterday with Dad giving me his insights as to why regulating climate change, even through a carbon tax, will prove difficult (he is, after all, a tax economist) and why Facebook Group’s dominance of social media isn’t as untouchable (and hence in need of government intervention) as it might seem. Ended the ride by picking up soft pretzels for Mom in Sea Colony.

On a very different parental notes, my virtual photo albums of the just-graduated seniors seem to be a big hit with their parents. I sent the links to them last night, and about 6 of them wrote back to say thanks. Y’all have grown up so much since those XC camp photos at Mackeme Woods 4 years ago!
