Glute-free cardio?

Tried minimizing the use of my glutes today and focused on stuff that would train my legs or get cardio without pushing the area that's sore. Much easier said than done.

The good news is my hamstrings and quads can be do weights in isolation (leg curls or extensions) without aggravating the pain. The bad news is that squats or presses feel terrible. I did some jumping rope for cardio and that seemed to be okay on the leg (mostly quadfs and calves getting worked). I think I need to get this looked at...
