A stroll in the woods

August 14, 2019 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Walk

Comments:
My Israeli friend Hagai and his fiance Mor were staying with me, and after touring the African-American History Museum, the MLK Memorial, the Mall and Georgetown with them over the past few days, I decided to show them what Washington's quiet uptown has to offer--specifically, Rock Creek Park. We parked at Tennyson and walked up the Western Ridge Trail to Candy Cane, back down the Valley Trail, and across one of the little connector trails back to our car. We even took a dip in the creek at one point, despite the appalling pollution I'd read about last week, and let the fish nibble us.

The park is lovely, but I can't get used to walking there. Those trails are meant for running! Hopefully tomorrow I'll be less sore.
