Rosh Ha-Intensity Club

September 30, 2019 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Stuffed my face pretty heroically last night at the Lewises Rosh Hashana dinner(where I saw several GDS XC alums and their parents). Repeated the feat this afternoon with some family friends after services. Then went for a run. And what a run. My legs actually felt fine, but the stomach, oy vey, as they say. I had a weird sensation of both wanting to stop and lie down yet not actually feeling tired for the first 30 minutes or so. After that I got myself lost in some strange part of East Bethesda where Jack Rudnick may or may not live. Eventually picked up the Georgetown Branch trail detour which includes some very short paved trail segments and signage on roads and sidewalks, eventually popping out on Jones Bridge by North Chevy Chase Park where I think Gaba said he used to play baseball (the only time I've ever run this route was with him, Anthony, and several others a year or two back). My stomach eventually settled down and I made a point of really savoring the final miles. Its so wonderful to be able to run on smooth, reliable pavement, with no angry dogs, cool night air, and a reasonable freshness in your legs. Even your upper half remains stuffed.

Afterward caught up on my core, which I neglected the last two days. Did 15 minutes, thereby maintianing my goal of doing 5 minutes of core every day (on average, at least). I've had this streak going since August 26.

My goal for this week is to try to a full night's sleep every night - 8 to 9 hours on average. Thanks for the idea, Jacob.
