Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Facts:
1. Myles is faster than me.
2. Amelia and Lucy are incapable of being present in practice on the day same. I suspect some sort of conspiracy is afoot.
3. "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen in addition to having an endless supply of verses (over 4-6 different versions he sang) also has an endless supply for quotes that somehow perfect fit with Abby Murphy's runs.
4. I caught my 30th leaf on the way back from AU. But Anthony is still ahead.
5. Anthony may or may not have been present at the last ever Bob Marley concert in the U.S. while running around the AU outdoor amphitheater as a 5-year-old.
6. I, on the other hand, definitely saw a Bob Dylan concert at AU my senior year of high school with my friend/teammate Rebecca Zeldin, her dad, and our legendary assistant coach Meg Busse.
Oh yeah, there was also a run today. I ran with Adina, and we talked about Israeli politics the whole way to AU. So impressed by how much better shape she is in than at the start of the season! We kept up a respectable pace the whole way there, and then I saw her doing some really speedy sprints down the homestretch of the AU track. I'm so proud of her determination and dedication. She even got to sleep on time last night (so she tells us). Adina truly represents a bright, dedicated, and sometimes snarky future of this program.
(I'm saying all this here because I know she never reads running-log and thus will never hear all these "mean" things I'm saying. #TalkingBehindBacks)
Spent most of the warm-up drills talking to Amelia about her parents' adventure and other related topics. Ran 4x400m w/ Nathaniel, Moon, and Arthur at 75, 74, 74, 74 I think, followed by 2x200m at 31 and 31. Myles joined us for 200s, which meant that I soon abandoned my attempts to pace Arthur and Moon (sorry guys!) and focused solely on trying to catch Myles. Had we been in lane 1, I think we'd have been a second or two faster. Afterward, jogged back slowly with Anthony (on his bike) with no athletes in sight, then spend a good 45 minutes talking to Corbin, Camilla, Smurphy, Matt Siff, and other goofballs.
