Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Abby, AnSo, Myles, Nomi, Anthony and I set out from AnSo's house near Delacarlia Reservoir around 2:15pm. 3 1/2 hours later (only 2:25 of which were running) we arrived at Union Station. Along the way we found
- Maryland
- A boundary stone
- NW DC
- the home of Anthony's high school girlfriend/Mark's babysitter
- The park where Coach Ehrenhaft and his wife went on their first date
- Myles' childhood home
- A whole pig roasting on a spit
- A spot where Myles and his friends learned one should never try to launch bottle rockets without bottles
- A secret hall of broken mirrors in the woods
- A trolley trail
- The best way to cross Arizona Ave while getting covered with plant-based porcupine quills
- Myles' butt-sliding skills
- An abandoned tressel closed to the public with a Nomi-sized hole in the fence
- A tunnel under Canal Road
- A leaf in my teeth (well, I first caught it between my wrists and then grabbed in between my teeth to show off)
- Nomi's favorite high school date spot
- Myle's dream house
- Virginia
- Abby's dream trail
- the fact that we really should have listened to me and not Myles and crossed Key Bridge on the left side
- the place where we play Foxes and Hounds
- a really neat memorial with waves and gulls dedicated to Americans lost at sea
- Abby's and AnSo's outdoor bartending skills
- please don't get the wrong impression, the bar was closed, they just wanted water
- airplanes that Abby and AnSo could almost touch if they just jumped a liiiiiitle higher
- the fact that you aren't really in Virginia when you think you are
- SW DC
- the best place to get fresh seafood in DC (but we didn't stop for it)
- the Maine Lobsterman statue
- Matt's favorite theater
- the Titanic memorial
- Abby and AnSo starring as Jack and Kate in Titanic
- Sunset
- SE DC
- the Nats
- the Supreme Court
- NE DC
- My dream of reaching all four DC quadrants in one run
- Nomi's sister's house
- Myles' tennis racket
- AnSo and Abby's stunning finishing kick
- Milkshakes
All in all, a pretty solid way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
