great workout. Was worried it was going to be too chilly but it wasn't windy by the track and I warmed up with pants and was able to do the workout in shorts without any real issues. 
Felt stiff on the warm up but 4x30m striders helped loosen things up.
Workout was 5x1000 @ 8k pace with 100walk, 100jog rest. Was meant to be slower than I took it. I was sort of aiming for tempo pace by feel but the long rest made it harder to judge. Even though it was fast I felt very comfortable.
Splits: 
3:36, 3:32, 3:34, 3:31, 3:33.
So again pacing wasn't perfect but I'm definitely getting more consistent.
Cooldown was more like 1.7 miles but calling it 2.2 to account for active recovery during workout
