Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Drove up with Big Cheese to Catoctin where we met up with Fergie for our long run. Was aiming for 16, but ended up doing 14 because we still ran for almost an hour and it was pretty hard. After about three miles on the roads, for some reason beyond me we decided to run up a literal mountain on a clearing where some electrical wires were. According to Cheese, it was about .4 miles long if I remember correctly, and it was steeper than any hill we run up around campus, even Righter's Mill. We even stopped once or twice on the way up it was that hard. But it was worth the view. Anyways, after that, we tried the trial that leads to Hog Rock, but it was also pretty tough running. Also very steep, and the footing was bad. We ended up reaching a road and went out and back for a few miles on that to make the run longer. That was also really hilly, but seemed less so because of the much better footing on the road. We passed right next to Camp David during that part. Came back down to the visitor's center followed by a nice brunch at a diner nearby. Good to get out of the DC area for a run, even if it was a super hard one. Good company too.
