Bold Start to the Week

January 27, 2020 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Decided that after a easy pace yesterday where I felt good I was ready for some tempo. Not as fast as I would have liked, but most of the miles were around 6:50 so that's good. I simultaneously didn't think I could go faster but also felt like I could keep doing it indefinitely. Funny how we can get stuck in those mental ruts sometimes. The truth I guess is that I could have gone faster if I'd said to myself "Okay, do this for X many minutes." So in some sense maybe what I did is what marathon tempo ought to be. I kept tacking on more miles because I was feeling spirited. Made my way up to Finsbury Park, then west along the parkland trail, and south toward home along the street that goes under the archway.

The rest of the days I can certainly feel the mileage but not feeling overly sore. Looking forward to my next track workout on Wednesday. Tomorrow had better be EASY though.
