Really thrilled to podium at the first annual frigid full mile. 
For real though, Tony and I threw down a full mile time trial and it was great. Honestly way faster than I was expecting to be able to run right now (considering it was cold, wearing tights and early in the training cycle). But a huge, encouraging sign of things to come.
I didn't really hear all the splits exactly but I think we were around 72,75,72(high), 73? My watch time had me at 4:53.
Recap of the race, I felt very comfortable early on and was able to chill out behind Tony for the first half. lap 3 definitely felt like it was picking up the pace but I was able to respond well for sure. Coming into the last lap I was itching to make a move but didn't go for it on the back stretch. Instead, like a genius, I started going for it on the back curve and gave it all I had. Locked up with nothing left with 50 to go and he breezed past. Very smooth for a marathon guy ;)
had 10 minutes active recovery after and I was feeling it for most of that. Took my time changing out of spikes and mostly walked-jogged it. Had a headache and was also light headed but that wore off.
Then 3x300 @ 800 pace. These ended up being closer to mile pace. I was struggling to keep fast with good form. Splits were something like 54, 54, 57? 
Honestly didn't feel that bad on the cooldown either. We're building strength for sure. 
Added a little bit onto cooldown to get us to 6.12 miles with active recovery.
