Primrose Hills

February 21, 2020 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
I had no idea London was such a flat city before I arrived, but the hills really are few and far between (and not very big at that). There is one reasonably close to my student accommodation though, and since the hills in the Boston marathon are pretty graduate anyway it suits my purposes. I ran four different versions of it since there are various paved paths up to the top. On the whole, it's a sprint-like workout, which I really haven't had any of yet. I think it was good training. All but the last set were into the wind. Except for set three, I always managed to muster my fastest pickup yet on the last one.

4 x 44-49 seconds (ending at the summit)
4 x 74-76 seconds (ending in a slightly downhill sprint)
2 x 74-75 seconds (these were not very satisfying)
4 x 38-42 seconds (a grand sprinterly finale)

Felt good afterward so I picked up the pace coming back on the canal hitting 7:14 in the last full mile. I ran even faster on the way over (6:45) thanks to random runners I started following.
