Collecting stones in the rain

Weather: light rain and upper 40s?

Comments:
Ran at 6:50am to meet Sequoia at Fessenden and Western. Sketched boundary stone. Jogged along Western collecting stones for the scavenger hunt. Paused at 41st St. Sketched boundary stone. Paused at Pinehurst. Sketched boundary stone. Paused off of Oregon Ave. Sketched boundary stone. We decided to bushwhack through RCP and ultimately some developments and found our way to the back of the Red Cross Montgomery Chapter House, reminding me I need to schedule a donation. Sketched boundary stone at northern tip of DC. Cut through some more neighborhoods and woods, including someone's backyard while he gestured unhappily at us through his picture window. Found North Portal and Eastern Ave as hoped without much unnecessary swerving, but not having expected to get this far, I hadn't confirmed NE stone #1's location or existence. We missed the plaque in the sidewalk... Maybe it was on the DC side? Expolored a bit further and sketched the more modern marker in the middle of Georgia Ave, and then meandered south and West, ultimately taking Sherril Drive and Nebraska Ave for portions. Paused to stretch at 3944 before driving Oliver home. Felt pretty good and time passed quickly despite the numerous sketch breaks. Nice to front load some mileage this week. Calves, feet, and achilles were a bit tight the rest of the day.
