Swimming with the Dolphin

Ran down Reno at 3:15 to intercept Sarah Pillard for what might be my last run near someone other than family for quite some time. First mile was 8:15 or so. We connected near Brandywine and meandered behind SFS and through McLean Gardens to Glover to Whitehaven to Calvert to Reno. Parted from Sarah at 54 having built a decent pace, especially after exiting the trail. Last mile home was 7:07 and the one before that was in the mid 7s. Felt decent throughout the run and pretty pleased with how easily I got the pace down below 7:30s at the end. Decided to count steps in that final mile. 164 strides per minute without effort and then 174 when I concentrated. That's consistent with what I noticed last week too. Nice to realize I reached 9 miles without it feeling like a particularly long day. Very nice company and fun to talk Hopper and Bulldog running.
