Exercise Type: Run

Weather: lovely, 70, sun, pollen

Comments:
Grouchy that I didn't get out for my run yesterday. I'd had grand plans for an 8 miler which would have put me over 40 for the week, but ended up in three consecutive hours of phone calls with other teachers and the window to run closed. Today I spent all day "teaching" and then headed out with Loper at 5 to accompany her for her up and down ladder workout. Ran winding, twisting loop through Somerset. Pick ups of 30sec, 1 min, 2 min, 3min, 2min, 1min, 30sec. Cooldowns were usually 2-4 minutes. Felt decently good, and was impressed by Leah's focus and effort. She had 10 minutes of warm up, 24 minutes of workout, and I parted from her after 3 minutes of cooldown. We parted halfway through her cooldown at Cedar and Oliver in Chevy Chase. I wanted to add on something and it seemed like I should keep the ladder theme going. Can't say as I felt all that strong or inspired, but I convinced myself to do pick-ups of 1min, 2min, 3min, 2min, 1 min. Kept recoveries to 1min. Headed up to Chevy Chase Circle and then down to Davenport and back on Reno. Last pick up ended with about half a mile to go till home. Pace felt strong on those pick-ups, but certainly more tempo than race pace. My solo section was probably 2.5 total and around 17 minutes, but I failed to stop my watch at the end. By the end, I felt like I'd gotten some sort of a fartlek day in.
