Weather: 54-55 (48-55 feel) 14 mph wind SW 40% HUM
Comments:
Wind gusts seemed to be in my face pretty much every mile except mile 9. I kept the down hill miles, 1-4.85ish, controlled knowing last week I got gassed. Wind gusts periodically. Immediate head wind turning onto lake st. Wind and hills from 4.85-8 pretty much. Mile 7-8 was the best only a few gusts but 4.85-7 were tough, felt better than last week though. Mile 9 had no wind and felt good, decided to make this an 11 miler. Mile 10 back to wind and hill. 11 was solid. Shin splint was mild, only one flare around 4.30? First run with new HR chest strap. Apparently my vertical ration, oscillation, ground balance, and contact time are absolute garbage. This for sure stems from my low cadence. If I'm every serious about running again I'll have to increase my cadence. HR was ok, still want average to go down, hills and wind did not help the cause.
