Runs like this make the hard days worth it

April 19, 2020 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: low 60s.

Comments:
Another gorgeous spring day, and pleasantly cool for running. I'd had grand intentions for the third weekend in a row of biking to Arlington to collect a few boundary stones, but I had three long zoom calls spaced throughout the day which basically prevented me from trying my adventure... plus, I lack the motivation to prioritize it. I did manage to get out with half an hour to go before dinner and after a nice family walk with the dog on the tow path. Meandered to Conn Ave and then took that to 36th to Reno to Quebec to Wisc to 41st to 3944. Pace built throughout as I loosened up and especially as I turned towards home. Pretty sure that by the time I was half a mile in I was running in the mid 7s and the final three half miles from Upton to home were 3:43, 3:35, 3:27. The effort was very controlled, and I wouldn't call it a tempo (except maybe for the final quarter mile), so that was nice. It felt like a quality run, albeit half as long as I'd have liked to go.
