Editor's note a few days later... I gave a pint of whole blood in the afternoon.
Drove to Rittenhouse and set off with a former Hopper. Entered the park at Tennyson and turned left onto Western Ridge. Had forgotten to start watch until about 8-10 minutes in, so time is a guess. Matt took us off to the right from the main trail once we were north of Wise Rd. When that trail ended at Beach Dr, we spotted my predecessor Coach Bill Solers on his run. Accompanied him up that hill to the gate and paused for nearly half an hour listening to his stories. Eventually, George Haywood happened by and eavesdropped for awhile. Desmond Dunham also gave a greeting as he passed and I got a quick wave to Joanna Seigal (mother of GDS alumni). Stories were wonderful and ranged from GDS running stories from the 90s to Bill's tales of racing 4:19 against Olympians in 1961. Eventually broke ourselves away ran quickly back up through the trails including Pinehurst Branch and parted ways at Rittenhouse.
