Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Katherine Treanor and Sarah Pillard and I met up at Derwood today to relive the glory of ISL championships and explores some new trails. I don't think I've ever run the entire course before without stopping. It's hard! We ran at almost exactly 8-minute pace for the whole thing according to Strava which felt disconcertingly tiring. The girls narrated just how hard or lonely or discouraging each section felt... I don't think I remember they commenting on any good parts! They still had great memories of this place though. Afterwards, we ran down some side trails which led us to a school, a tree farm, and an animal shelter. We got thoroughly lost, in part because one of the trails may have led us through a tunnel under a state highway and when we popped out at an intersection we had next to no idea where we were. We found our way back eventually though and really enjoyed checking out wooded trails (as well as more creek crossings). Afterwards, we stretched and watched the hogs root around in the mud. A good day.
