Canal

Comments:
Started out towards Great Falls on the canal. Pretty gross out, but had a lot of shade so it wasn't too bad. A little over a mile in there was a huge turtle (I'm pretty sure it was a snapping turtle?) on the tow path and a bunch of people were crowded around it. I decided that I'd stop on the way back if all the people were gone. After turning around at the four mile mark, I needed to poop really badly (why does it happen so all of a sudden?!) and luckily knew there was a porta potty by one of the locks. I lucked out: it said it was cleaned yesterday, and sure enough was just as clean as as a porta potty could be. The only bad thing was that it was like 120 degrees in there, but when I went back out onto the tow path after it felt really nice and cool out! Would recommend. Shin felt pretty good during this so I think I'm ready to move it up to around 50 miles this week. Turtle wasn't there on the way back :(
