Backside of Park Rolling Trail Fartlek 1min ON, 3min OFF

July 7, 2020 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: mid-90's

Comments:
Good date-night with Sara (went to Moksa .... I'm on a "7-series losing streak" in Monopoly Deal" - just can't seem to beat her in a best out of 5!

Wanted to test the legs a little bit after coming off a good LR to see how they were recovering and where fitness was.

Instantly they felt good so that was a positive sign. Able to, now, to cruise in the high-8/low-9min range over the many rolling hills .... Decided to stick with a fartlek (like last week), but keep it a little more structured. Felt strong, but controlled on the 1min ON's - just enough to "feel it", but not enough to "tax it". Was able to recover on the OFF's, but still maintain a somewhat-steady effort. Did about x4 and that was all I needed. Left calf still a touch sore. Ordered a 2nd pair of shoes and gonna shuck the Kinvara 10's from last year to see if that helps (Went "Old School" and ordered the NB 890's! (To have a bit more cushion than the Kinvara's) .... (My '11/'12 AR50 & '12 Waldo 100k shoe!)... I ordered the 6's (Can't remember if the 3's or 4's were the last model I wore?) ... Curious to see if this shoe is still legit or (as I surmise) NB has gone downhill a bit. We'll see!
