Exercise Type: Run

Weather: humid, 70s, breeze

Comments:
We had a very short visit to Dionis Beach this afternoon which was cut short by a Jellyfish encounter. I had stings all along my left arm and a few smaller patches on my back and right leg. Anna got struck as well on her hip and leg. The result was we left the Bianci bike at the beach (Anna had ridden it there). After some vinegar, a hot shower, and a couple of hours of sweating profusely from my wounds while on a work call, I was feeling a fair bit better and was heading to run with Leah at 6:15 before our 7pm dinner reservation. I suddenly remembered the bike I'd intended to retrieve on my run. Knowing it was 3.5 miles to the bike, I headed off nonetheless telling Leah I'd meet everyone at the restaurant. I had to book it, and I did.Pace was quickly down below 7, and may have ended up being around 6:30. Effort was strong as I knew I shouldn't keep the family waiting for our one fancy dinner out. Got to the bike in 22:30 or so via Cobblestone Road, Cliff, and Eel Point Rd. Never felt smooth or strong, but I was working hard, and stayed focused despite the rolling hills and some wind in the face. Jumped on bike and after a quick adjustment of seat height, I was making good time on the reverse route. Got home in 13 minutes of hard, focused effort. The family was a minute away from walking into town, so that was good. I managed a shower and shave and caught them on my bike turning onto Broad Street. Might have been drenched in sweat as we sat down to eat, but it was clean sweat, with an accomplished feeling.
