A mile on the track

Weather: 50 and sunny, quite nice

Comments:
Coach Dwyer from Potomac was putting together some time trials for his runners today, and I offered to help pace since I was interested in watching his fast heat of the mile. Drove to Langley HS arriving around 10:45 and warmed up with four laps and four striders. Met Olivia whose PR was 6:17 and along with half a dozen others who were seeded faster, we set off. She was even and focused and with a strong final lap, we hit 6:10. It felt like work for me, but I was able to talk her through it and focusing on her meant I didn’t focus on my own suffering much.not sure I’d have broken 6 if I’d been trying. Some chatter after and a chance to cheer on the top heat, and then I eventually ran a mile cool down. A good experience and splits were... 1:33, 1:32, 1:34, 1:29.
A Hopper ran a nice 4:45 and a goat ran 4:49.
