Getting into it

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 40 and dark, some wind

Comments:
Trying to find inspiration and motivation, I decided I'd drive to Bethesda and park again. This time I parked beside the Women's Cooperative Market and ran to the Crescent Trail knowing I had about 36 minutes until our food would be ready to be picked up at Moongate. 3 minutes of feeling cold and swerving around people before I reached the mile marker (3.5?) by Ourisman Honda. Pace built naturally, and I felt pretty loose and comfortably brisk going down hill for two miles before buying a book and turning around by the staircases west of Mass Ave. Had to work much harder to keep the pace brisk on the return trip but was feeling pretty decent and it seemed worth it to run hard as decent feeling days are rare and should be taken advantage of. Splits were erased, but they were something like 7:40, 7:16, 7:15, 7:03. I kept the pace strong up to the car and then jogged a few blocks so I could confidently call it 5 miles for the day. Should have stretched more, but instead, I picked up the food, went home, showered, ate dinner, and got to visit with my team on zoom. Left side ribs and hip are still pretty sore from the fall down the stairs, but are improving noticeably and while they make it uncomfortable to stand tall or run upright, they can be ignored and don't actually effect my stride.
