Drove out around 4 to parking lot at Old Anglers' Inn to map the course for tomorrow's CC meet. Used the wheel and alternated walking and jogging north along the Berma Rd, across the stop gate bridge, north for another 500m, and then south along the tow path to the finish line 200m south of widewater. Lots of note taking, calculating, measuring, but also maybe 20-25 minutes of jogging mixed in. 2.5 miles perhaps? Then put away wheel and note pad and ran the newly marked 5km course. Very pleased with it. Net elevation drop, but it does have a few undulations. Surface is nice. Sun was getting low and lovely and temp was great for running. Mile splits were (800m 3:26) 6:43, 6:36, 6:21, (37) 20:19 for 5K. Jogged the slow quarter mile to the car and drove off to collect A&J for the first time in years. Stiff later, but worth it... both the run, and the drive to get the food. Liked the course a lot, and wasn't truly racing all out by any means, but a little peeved that I didn't feel faster or go faster.
