FARTLEK RUN
From my house, Rail Trail out and back.
Did the fartlek 30 seconds on, 2 minutes off and waited 5 minutes before starting and stopped approximately 5 minutes before my run was over.
It was stupid humid so the second I would finish the "on" part I would just feel absolutely obliterated and like I had nothing to even do the off. I would actually build up energy to a nice steady pace again pretty fast given how dead I was after the on section. I still made sure I moved easy on the off part, and I slowly built up pace instead of just forcing myself to keep going fast. I was pretty happy with how I did, felt loose. Pretty sure I also picked up pace on the "on" section as I went since my mile splits stayed the same but my off definitely slowed because my recovery was taking longer.
