This morning was interesting, split between the emergency room and delicious breakfast in Boulder. It was also super hazy and apparently smoky from fires in California. We did get out to hike in the hills above Boulder in the mid morning, but you couldn't even see down into the city cause it was so hazy! In the afternoon, took a run break and ran from the hotel down to the Boulder Creek Path. It was warm, and still smoky but I needed to get my legs moving at least a little bit because I brought my shoes all this way... Cruized down and took the trail all the way to Foothills. I don't remember to path being solid concrete, honestly kinda sucked for running. Legs felt a little bit beat up on it. Brought back a few distant memories of CKells and I tracking along just to say that we did it. As I was coming back, rolled up around Folsom Stadium just to add on a little bit. At that point, I could tell some of the elevation was hitting me. Just coasted in and caught up with Dad as he was finishing the out and back as well. Again, great to get my legs moving a little bit but not really focusing on training or pushing it this week. Just focusing on taking a full on mental release from my usual routine. I am realizing maybe you do need to have some breaks even if you are in the zone, and that's OK.
