Week 5 (Paul Short 8k)

Really proud of my race at Paul Short on Friday. 27:35 for 8k (5:33 avg) for a 41 second PR. Lost focus with a couple miles to go and think I can run even faster when I have the chance in two weeks. 13th on the team this weekend too. Keeping my goal of sub-27 and top 12 in mind. Feel like I'm one step closer.

Otherwise, this was a good week. Good routine, good focus, good sleep. Lower mileage because of the lighter days midweek before the race. Top of my right foot hurts a lot because I was stupid and tied my chip too high up my spike and it dug into my leg for the entire race. Didn't hurt yesterday but then today, two days out, felt horrible for the entire long run. 16 nice miles today, hilly, to cap off the week, feeling great. Average of 84 miles for past month, and average of 83 for past five weeks (since the semester started).
