If feeling ok, today or tomorrow the latest, I'm looking for a 3 mile tempo run....
Just a remindr, a true tempo run is a faster-paced workout also known as a lactate-threshold and is supposed to be at a pace that is about 30 seconds slower than your 5k race pace. So like I always say it is "comfortably hard" and improves our metabolic fitness more than any other type of run!
So warm up .5 miles easy
Run 3 miles at tempo, (probably 6:15 to 6:45 ish pace for you right now depending on conditions)
Remember This isn't about getting faster each mile, but just maintaining a steady state pace/effort once you feel things out.
As always pace depends on a lot of factors!!
Cooldown .5 easy
I warmed up 1 mile and cooled down 1 mile
Tempo run @ 6:45 pace (all on treadmill)
