January 4, 2022 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: mid 30s, sun, and a fair bit of ice and snow on the ground
Comments:
Anna and I did a loop past the post office and up into Chevy Chase, including the mandatory turned ankle for my victim at the No Exit sign. A ten minute pause at home and then ran to intercept Matt S who was running late because he was literally still on California time, despite having been home over 24 hours. Took Nevada, Linnean, and Soapstone Valley (Yes icy and snowy, but also amazingly beautiful in the still-clinging snow) to Peirce Mill where I miraculously found my favorite running gloves encrusted in the ice after I dropped them there in the dark parking lot 23 hours ago. Ran home along Connecticut Ave. Even though I felt like we were moving decently well, the time from Conn to home on Livingston was 2:16 indicating we were likely over 8 pace, even then. I guess all those days off have affected my pace as well... Still, lovely running, despite the constantly varying icy footing. 18 minutes with Anna and 49 with Matt.
