Not sure what the plan was until we were well under way,but we ended up going long. Headed off from home towards MD Ave in Glen Echo hoping to show Matt as many trails as possible... Somerset... Little Falls, Sumner place Mall, canal, (dropped a "tempo mile" at 5:31 pace at Matt's suggestion), Cabin John Trail to River Road (toughest and slowest 2 miles of the run on muddy steep hills), crossed beltway on River, Holton amphitheater, a backyard, suburban streets back to Wilson/River Rd, more suburban streets, another backyard or two, a great trail into Whitman, back to River, over two fences onto Kenwood golf course, several fairways, through a few gates and past the pool, back along River, Somerset, pool trail, Friendship Heights, home. Legs were tired and heavy/tight by the end, but cardio was never taxed except up the few hills and whenever Matt got frisky. Must be my first 2 hour run in close to ten years. Feeling decent, but legs=worn out after. Left ham tightened at dinner; right ham twitchy as I write this, but we'll see in the morning. Pace felt to be 7:00ish on average save for slower on Cabin John trail.
