July 5, 2022 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 70s and humid
Comments:
Humidity is building back up, but it wasn't terrible yet when I set off at 8:30am. Ran Belt Rd loop extended (to the front doors of the Friendship Post office). I feel heavy on every run (and I am), but I'm not dragging and the pace was down around 7:30 and maybe quicker over the final 1.5 miles from the post office without any concerted effort. This week is off to a good start, but the blood donation scheduled for 11am today, and the heat may keep me from following through with my intentions to invest in training. We'll see how disciplined I can be. Right ankle is still stiff and not fully back to form 17 days after the sprain. I did my 30 push ups (after having missed a day) and ankle work with an elastic band. Also, My right hamstring tightened up when I ran the brisk 30 minute Dad's Loop last Wednesday. I finally rolled on a ball today to begin to address that. I forgot to mention my lower back had tightened up badly after helping Bill Spencer fix the oven door last Thursday, but that resolved itself after two days and some biking.
