July 9, 2022 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 70s and humid, but generally cool and wet
Comments:
I was indifferent about whether or not I needed to run today, but I had time and got myself out the door without much internal resistance. I opted for the "standard" two mile loop around the triangle of Conn, Military, and Western. Even with such modest ambitions, I felt awful for the entire run. I loosened up a smidge and the pace dropped from 8 flat down my newly measured quarter mile of Livingston (2:23) to 7:20 in the last quarter mile of Livingston (2:10), but I felt as if I were hauling a sack of potatoes the entire way. I'll stay patient and remind myself that I've doubled my mileage, given blood, and am still recovering from Covid and the ankle sprain. Still, it is humbling to be this heavy and slow.
