Extending for leaves

November 11, 2022 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: light rain, warm, 60s

Comments:
Ran up to Tenley at 5:50am as usual for a Friday. Connected with Sam and Alex and no dog this week. I could tell leaves were falling with some regularity, but the darkness makes it so tough. They let me lead them down Windom and into Spring Valley. Alex suggested the Spring Valley trail and then we followed him along a short path under the pine trees behind the AU bleachers. Very nostalgic. Managed to catch two leaves while the sky was still dark, but missed more including one bouncing off my face! Eventually, I dropped Sam off at his house and tried to wind my my home in hopes of leafy streets now that the sky was getting lighter. Had great success along little streets like Ingomar and under the willow oaks of Military and Reno. Kept adding on for about 20 minutes and caught 12 leaves in that time for a total of 14 on the day and 86 on the season. A satisfying start to a final day of parent-teacher conferences. Nice and tired by the end, despite the likely 10 minute pace with Sam and Alex.
