Palisades

September 16, 2023 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: upper 70s and sunny, but low humidity... lovely

Comments:
A glorious early fall day with room temp air. Our trip to visit Leah in Maine was cancelled due to tropical storm Lee arriving there today. It wasn't the most productive Saturday, but it was still nice to have a two day weekend. Drove to AU and then around the neighborhood until I successfully intercepted Dominic B-P doing his 4x8 on Neb Ave. Gave him some encouragement including 20 seconds of pacing despite no warm up. Eventually parked near Potomac Ave and ran along that road and the trolley trail to the chasm behind the former LMS. Doubled back and took Reservoir down to the tow path to the Chain Br trail back up to the Crescent and the car. Felt pretty not-perky, but loosened up decently and appreciated the flatter surface of the canal once off the lumpy trail grass. Nice to run those old familiar trails for the first time in some years. Before driving away I walked over towards the museum of the Palisades and approached the director as he was working on his front stair handrail.
