Central Park

December 16, 2023 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 50ish

Comments:
After training up to NYC yesterday after school, and lots of helping out my Dad with tech (the blind leading the blind), I peeled off from him at 86th and Broadway and ran to the Park. Took the loop road counterclockwise and shifted up to the bridal trail at the east side stairs to the Reservoir. (The next portion of reservoir trail was closed, so I stayed on the bridal path until the north side entrance and ran the last half mile along the reservoir path. Finished mostly along 87th past some great Christmas lights as the sky darkened. Pace was chill early in the run, but built steadily. Near Central Park South I was five meters behind a man running with his dog at ply 7:20 pace for about a mile. When we overtook a man pushing a jog stroller, and he hung with us, I eventually decided to dial it up and dropped to a 6:30 pace for the rest of the run. Felt good to get moving. Foot is sore, but loosens pretty well while running. We'll see if this sets it back. Getting more confident it's just peroneal tendinitis.
