Rock Creek out and back with Ettinger

February 4, 2024 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: Rising form 37-45 and sunny

Comments:
Drove to meet Ettinger at Peirce Mill at 9am. He jogged over and added on a few more miles afterwards. Took Beach Dr nearly to East-West Highway and came back with a 1 mile detour along the Valley trail from the first foot bridge to the second one near Bingham. Those dirt trails were in good shape, but the surface was still enough to make the running significantly harder. Great to have Jon to talk with. Writing this the next day, I do have a very minor sore throat and wonder if this was harder as I'm fighting something off... But mostly it's just hard to run 11 miles at sub 8 pace at this point in my training. Hips hurt, legs were exhausted and achy, and feet throb. I'm annoyed with myself that I failed to schedule runs for myself on Monday and Thursday of this week, but the runs I did do were solid and I essentially had two long runs, 48 hours apart. Surely, I'll see the payout in a few weeks. Just have to keep grinding as the young people say. I did get three sets of push ups this week and have been spending some time balancing on one foot --but not in a focused sort of way.
