Wednesday at cc camp

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: cool and refreshing, upper 50s?

Comments:
First year that we had some kids run to the MD Heights. We also had top groups run the extra hill spur trail after visiting the overlook. I ran from the lock to the footbridge (5min). Swung legs and ran from the high end of the bridge with Myles Smith up to the crest in 11:35 (dropping Myles two thirds of the way up without trying). Then stood and cheered before connecting with Myles and the top girls as they returned from the overlook. We jogged down the side trail for about 1km before turning around and running hard back to the crest. I then sent the rest of the folks down the hill and ran to the overlook. After a quick glance, I ran hard back to the crest and then ran fast to the canal and then back to Lock 34. Times on my watch weeks later are confusing me, but I think I ran 38 minutes after the crest of the hill. I the afternoon I led the usual slow jog around the west side of camp for 8 minutes before teh slow stretch.
