barrier intervals

March 12, 2010 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 60 great

Comments:
10am; WU to Veale, then to NRV and a couple of laps with Mid-D folk. light drills, leg swings, 4 strides over a barrier.

2*(1000, 6:00jog, 800, 5:00jog, 600), 12:00jog set rest, 2 barriers a lap. spiked up for the workout. went into this workout thinking :80pace for the 1000, :78pace for the 800, and :75pace for the 600. ended up posting 3:10 (:77), 2:30 (:75), 1:48 (:72), 3:08 (:76), 2:26 (:73), 1:43 (:69).

CD alone around campus to keep it flat.

the rest was too generous and there were only 2 barriers, so although this was a good workout in itself, I don't think it's predictive that I can run a steeple at the pace I ran the two 1000s in. Getting more confident on barrier approaches, big positive. Only had 2-3 bad barriers of 24 total. happy for Brett because he had a killer workout. long run tomorrow will cap off a good spring break of training.
