Bandanna Day 2

April 17, 2010 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: freakin hot

Comments:
I showed up a bit late, it's a long but short story, and barely got to see the finals for the girls 800. It was a good race. Two season PR's for Callie and Lila, even though it looked like Callie didn't have her best race. But when she does, everyone should look out. Mike looked really strong in the 4X400, nice stride. For the record Mike, I did get your split like you asked but I didn't get a chance to tell you. As you know it was a 52. Didn't get to see the girls 4X400 because I was attempting to do a cool down.

Something about today was weird. I kinda just showed up, raced, and left. Just like the 3200, I was a little lonely before the race. It was just me ...and some of the best people in the state. I'm not going to lie that it was kinda scary, me in my first year against the veterans of the sport. I really just wanted to get the race over with.

So the race started, I was seeded 21st (way to go me...) out of 24 runners, and like the 3200 I got shuffled to the back almost at once. After that I just got into a fast pace, battling with Kramer, Taylor from Boise, and the Elko kid (not the Sandall kid though). On the 3rd or 4th lap(I really don't remember), Kramer and the bunch made a huge surge and cut me off which killed all my speed. I think that if that hadn't of happened I could've had a better time. So the last 100 I caught up to Taylor and we raced it out to the line, but in the process caught Parker from Mt. View. We all crossed the line at basically the same time.

Now I have to go back and write about the 3200. Great.
